Client launches a new product called "GAME CLOUD" to contain all the digital brand games the company has developed over the years. Under the DPP name, the games would be accessible for retailer apps.
The client supplied me with a collage of ideas for the GAME CLOUD logo.
The full color palette would be brand orange, blue and white.
For continuity with other branded logos, a circle icon lockup with "DPP" separated by its name "GAME CLOUD" was the corporate look the client wanted first.
After the quick turnaround on the corporate look, I fleshed out the client's ideas for clouds with speed lines, game controllers, and stylized hands.
The client thanked me for the options and pitched them to the department. The client came back with a net new logo name: "GAME ROOM".
The client was happy to explore new logo ideas instead of retrofitting and salvaging the previous design elements. I am comfortable with either approach, but am also glad the client saw the good of designing to new specifications.
To pitch the strength of each submitted logo option, I put together a PowerPoint slide deck showing how design elements could brand the various games together. In lieu of the brand design games themselves (client had not shared), I used well-known mobile game icons as placeholders.
The logos were successful; the initiative unfortunately stopped before it really started. The designs might get new life one day!
